On the way to central London we passed over these allotments in Beckenham, which was the starting point for these paintings based on the order and grids; but also the customisation and randomness of peoples' allotments. Its a composition that could lead to some very abstract and surprisingly spacious paintings depending on how far I decide to take the ideas. I've just scratched the surface really at the moment.
You must love flying, as it seems that you spend quite a lot of hours up in the air.
ReplyDeleteThe new paintings are much more abstract than your previous ones and I guess if I wouldn't have known, I wouldn't have guessed that these are just little allotments seen from above.
we only spent 25 minutes in the air over London, but took loads of photos so I've been working on the aerial view project for the last 6 months. I like it when the images like the allotments can get easily abstracted - often only the title gives the game away ! Al
