london show opening

Had a great show in London's east end last month. Interesting area with loads of retro shops and good cafes. The show went well with good interest and sales, especially in the London aerial view paintings. Thanks to Jamesons whisky for arranging the cocktail bar on thursday night which helped keep the gallery and street outside full !

London allotments paintings

On the way to central London we passed over these allotments in Beckenham, which was the starting point for these paintings based on the order and grids; but also the customisation and randomness of peoples' allotments. Its a composition that could lead to some very abstract and surprisingly spacious paintings depending on how far I decide to take the ideas. I've just scratched the surface really at the moment.

Jubilee flotilla

Last weeks jubilee flotilla was a great opportunity to get some more aerial view compositions of the Thames. So I stood in front of the tv, camera poised to get some good photos ,and here are some of the results. I'm sure these will inform some interesting paintings ;modern day Canaletto's I'm not so sure...

We had a little party on our street which went from 2pm to 11pm so the neighbours were pretty merry by the end !
